Description

RIAÑO 2xTRAIL RUN is the two-stage version of the Riaño Trail Run. The two stages follow trails and paths through the Fuentes Carrionas Natural Park, the Fuente Cobre-Montaña Palentina area, and the Montañas de Riaño y Mampodre – Montaña Leonesa Regional Park.
The stages of the Riaño 2xTrail Run coincide with stages 2 and 3 of the Riaño 3xTrail Run.

Stage 2, covering a distance of 21.5 km, will start at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday in the town of Valverde de la Sierra and finish in the same town.

Stage 3 with a distance of 26.2 km, will start at 8:30 on Sunday in the town of Riaño and finish in the same town.

The RIAÑO 2xTRAIL RUN has a total distance of 47.6km, a total positive elevation gain of 3,070m and a negative elevation gain of 3,070m.

The RIAÑO 2xTRAIL RUN. can be done individually. There are 200 bibs available.

Each stage is semi-self-sufficient and has a maximum time limit for its completion.

In addition, Riaño Trail Run is a qualifying race for the UTMB.

Stage 2

STAGE 2 of the RIAÑO TRAIL RUN will start from the mining area of León, specifically from Valverde de la Sierra. From this town the route ascends to the Espigüete Peak, Palencia mountain, continuing through the peaks of the Natural Park of Fuentes Carrionas and Fuente Cobre to return to Valverde de la Sierra where the finish line will be installed.

STAGE 2 starts at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday from the town of Valverde de la Sierra. It covers a distance of 21.5 km, with an elevation gain of 1,756 m and an elevation loss of 1,756 m.

As this is a semi-self-sufficient event, there is one refreshment station along the route, and the maximum time allowed to complete the course is 6 hours and 30 minutes.

Stage 3

STAGE 3 of the RIAÑO TRAIL RUN will start from the town of Riaño. From here we will go up to Pico Gilbo to descend again to the town of Riaño, where the finish line will be located.

STAGE 3 starts at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday in the town of Riaño. It has a distance of 26.2 km and a difference in altitude of 1.314m+ and 1.314m-.

With a semi-self-sufficiency character, there is 1 refreshment station along the course and the maximum time to complete the course is 6:00 hours.

Mandatory material

All the runners of the RIAÑO TRAIL RUN, without exception, must make sure to bring the following material in order to be able to run the race:

Individual and Team Modality

  • Cell phone: With the battery fully charged and turned on during the entire test.

  • Thermal blanket: Minimum surface (1.4 x 2 m)

  • Whistle.

  • Container for liquid refreshment: No cups will be provided at the refreshment posts for the replenishment of liquids.

  • Windbreaker jacket

  • Containers and/or watertight bags for liquids: With a minimum total capacity of 1L.

Recommended material

  • GPS with the track of the stage
  • Mini first aid kit: With material to cure small wounds, cuts or grazes.

Checkroom

Each runner of the Riaño Trail Run will be able to deliver a bag with the material he/she may need when arriving to the finish line, which will be delivered at the start of the stage and identified with his/her bib number.

The organization will bring this bag to the finish line.

The organization is not responsible for the objects deposited inside.

The organization has also planned a FREE shuttle bus service for all runners and companions with the companion pack that will connect the Riaño Camp with the start of each stage, as well as, the return from the finish of each stage with start or finish outside Riaño.
