All the runners of the RIAÑO TRAIL RUN, without exception, must make sure to bring the following material in order to be able to run the race:
Individual Modality and teams:
Mobile phone: With fully charged battery and switched on during the whole race.
Thermal blanket: Minimum surface (1.4 x 2 m)
Whistle.
Glass for liquid refreshment: At the refreshment posts no glasses will be provided for the replenishment of liquids.
Windbreaker jacket
Containers and/or waterproof bags for liquids: With a minimum total capacity of 1L.
– Recommended:
GPS with the track of the stage
Mini first aid kit: With material to heal small wounds, cuts or grazes.
There will be generalized and/or random material controls at any point of the course (including from before the start until crossing the finish line). Failure to wear any of these items, refusal to make a control or disrespect to the controller will result in the immediate invalidation of the race bib and disqualification by the RFEA Referee Judge.
Recommended material:
Sunglasses.
Walking sticks.
Sunscreen: Total protection.
Electrolytes and/or mineral salts.
Food reserve: bars, gels, fruit…
Mini first aid kit: With material to cure small wounds, cuts or grazes.
Suitable backpack: To the volume of the material and race pace.
The race route will be marked with marking tape and specific signage created for the race. The race route will be published on the official website of the race. Any change or modification will be made public by the same means.
Each participant must follow the entire marked route, without skipping the signs and passing through all the checkpoints.
In addition to the fixed controls indicated on the official website www.rianotrail.run, the Organization may place “surprise” controls of passage or material at any point along the route.
Each participant is obliged to attend to the requests and questions of any judge, commissaire, doctor, nurse or person in charge of refreshments either at stipulated checkpoints or at any other point of the course.
It is strictly forbidden to receive external assistance or refreshments during the race outside the points provided by the Organization: these will coincide with the official refreshment points of the race. Likewise, it is forbidden to be accompanied by other people who are not registered participants in the race. External assistance and accompaniment outside the official refreshment posts will be grounds for disqualification by the Referee.
The participants of the three modalities will be able to have personal assistance only within the ASSISTANCE ZONE that will be properly delimited next to the official refreshment posts. The refreshment area itself will be restricted to runners and assistance that are properly identified. This will be a restricted area with no public access.
Only one accredited person per runner may access the ASSISTANCE ZONE of each refreshment post.
At each refreshment point there will be a specific closing time, being an indispensable requirement to pass before the established closing time in order to continue in the race.
Each refreshment post will have food and beverages that will vary depending on the kilometer where it is located. Food and beverages must be consumed at the refreshment post itself in sufficient quantity to ensure sufficient energy reserves to reach the next one, except for water, which can also be loaded in the tanks and reservoirs carried by the runner.
To use the refreshment area it is essential to wear the wristband and race bib.
Each runner will receive, when picking up the race bib, a bag that will be used as a checkroom..
These bags, delivered by the organization and duly identified with the bib label provided by the Organization, must be delivered the same day of the start in the space provided for this purpose at the start of each modality. The runner will deliver his bags before entering the starting box.
Only the bags given by the organization when picking up the race bib will be accepted in the checkroom.
The bag will be transported by the Organization to the finish line, so that the runner can pick up the bag with the material he/she needs.
The Organization will not accept claims for loss or breakage of the material contained in the bags. It is therefore recommended that the material inside the bag is not fragile or valuable and that the runner ensures that the bag cannot be opened during transport, reinforcing its closure, for example by means of flanges.
Throughout the race there will be several medical and security teams that will be coordinated with 112 by the central management of the RIAÑO TRAI RUN.
These teams will be distributed among the different refreshment posts and the runner will be able to request their help or assistance if needed.
Random or general medical controls may be carried out at some points. Refusal to make a control or disrespect to the doctor or assistant who asks for it will result in the immediate invalidation of the race bib.
All runners will submit to the doctor’s judgment whenever requested by the doctor, being the assessment of the medical team the one that prevails over any other, so the doctors may:
Eliminate from the race (by cancelling the bib) any runner they consider unfit to continue.
Order the evacuation of any runner they consider in danger.
Order the hospitalization of any runner when this is considered necessary.
Abandonments must be made at the Control Points. If due to an accident or injury the runner is immobilized and cannot reach a control point, he/she will activate the rescue operation by contacting the organization by telephone through the Emergency Mobile Phone.
Once at the refreshment post, the runner will communicate his desire to abandon the race to the person in charge of the refreshment post so that he can cancel his bib and identify him as having withdrawn.
It should be noted that only at the refreshment posts, indicated as points with RETURN CONTROL, there will be means of transport to evacuate runners who abandon the race.
In the event that the withdrawn runner chooses to return by his own means, he must also inform the person in charge of the refreshment post of his abandonment so that he can cancel his bib and identify him as withdrawn, otherwise the Organization will consider him as lost and will activate the rescue alarm.
Abandonment of a team member.
If a team member abandons during the race. The other team member may continue the race in the individual mode, and must carry all the mandatory equipment, including phone and whistle, but will not be eligible for prizes. His name will appear in the general classification as Finisher and will be eligible for UTMB points, but will not be eligible for prizes in case of being on the podium of the race.
In mixed pairs, in case of abandonment of the male runner, the female runner will go to the individual modality with a penalty of 30 seconds per kilometer run as a team.
In case of bad weather conditions or force majeure, the Organization reserves the right to suspend, neutralize or modify the time slots and/or the route of the race.
In case of cancellation of the race due to force majeure and more than 7 days before the start date, a partial refund of the registration fee will be made according to the date of the cancellation and therefore of the expenses already incurred.
In the event that such cancellation occurs during the 7 days prior to the departure of Riaño Trail Run and for reasons beyond the Organization’s control, or in case of suspension of the race once the departure has taken place, no refund will be considered.
